There’s nothing quite as daunting as a blank sheet of paper. So, you know that creating interesting and relevant content is critical to your successful marketing plan… but, you’ve used up all your best ideas? This is not uncommon. Often, people start out with gusto and have an initial flurry of great content. But, then slowly the ideas dry up as you feel you’ve used up all you have to say.

Nonsense.

There’s always a theme, a topic, or an angle that can give your content the edge. Finding an idea to hang your content on can really liven it up. Using a slightly oblique theme to frame a piece of content will often tap into existing thoughts, wants, fears or desires of your readers. It might make them look at it differently. Or, look at you differently. If it makes them think, smile, click, read, share… it’s done t’s job.

That’s why I put together an A to Z list of all the talking points I could think of to help you spark off your own ideas. And, I’m sharing every single one (that’s over 140) over the month of December.

Content marketing ideas beginning with I

Indulgence

To balance out the health and fitness, a little indulgence from time to time is great. How about using Christmas or Easter to run a little online game, or to send your customers an indulgent thank you? Marketing agencies seem to have a habit of taking their teams abroad for Christmas trips, photos and tales from the travels can make for engaging social media content.

Inspiration

Everyone likes to be inspired. Being inspirational isn’t something easily done to order, but talking about something that’s inspired you, or inviting people to do, so can be really engaging. If you’re a business owner, a post about what inspired you to set up your business is usually a good read. Asking others about their inspiration can help you to understand them better too.

Interviews

Interviewing an industry leader or celebrity can be great, but don’t forget your own people. A simple ‘meet the team’ style 20 questions can be a nice way to show the real people in your business and bring a bit of personality to it all.
